Head of Research
Thakshila Weerasekera

Over 15 years of experience in Market Research. Worked as Head of Research at Dialog Telekom PLC (2008-2010), Unilever Sri Lanka (2004-2008) and J. Walter Thompson (2001-2004). Implemented an overall systematic research process. Lead team and deployed Shopper Research Process across grocery, modern trade, cosmetic and pharmacy channels. Sphere headed many research lead initiatives for business planning process, brand building and development, brand activation, consumer and shopper insight generation, media planning and buying and competitor intelligence.

Prior to above tenures, worked as a Manager at The Nielsen Company Lanka Ltd and headed Client Sector Teams in Customized Research. Multi Industry Experience across the broad research areas of Strategic Understanding Studies (usage and attitude, segmentation / profiling, triggers and barriers, customer satisfaction, customer and shopper understanding, brand equity), Idea Development and Mix Evaluation Studies (concept and product tests, pricing, packaging and advertising evaluation) and Market Monitoring Studies (Consumer and Retail Panels, Brand Health Checks, Post launch and Activation Evaluations). Lead multi country research studies (usage and attitude, concept and product tests) for FMCG Sector. Conducted workshops for Insight Generation and development of Action Plans from research findings and consumer immersions.

Holds a Degree in Bachelor of Economics and Management (University of London) and Master of Business Administration (University of Colombo).


Senior Manager Research
Panduka Ranasinghe

Over 5 years of experience in Market & Social Research. Worked at Dialog Telekom PLC as a Senior Executive – Market Research and Intelligence. Was a senior Researcher of the Quantitative research team at The Nielsen Company Lanka Ltd. Has a sound knowledge in variety of market research studies including usage and attitude, brand equity, advertising, concept testing, and product testing in the areas of Telecommunication, FMCG, Food and Beverages, Finance, Educational Services, industrial supplies, etc. Handled key clients like Unilever, Coca-Cola, Nestle, Hemas, & Mobitel at Nielsen. Holds a BSc Physical Science Degree in Statistics.


Manager Research
Inoshi Godamanna
Over 4 ½ years of experience in Market Research. Was a senior Researcher of the Quantitative research team at The Nielsen Company Lanka Ltd. Areas of research include multi-country studies within the Asia-Pacific region which were facilitated through Nielsen, as well as external research firms, the design and analysis of U&A, Satisfaction, Brand Equity and number of other ad-hoc studies in the areas of banking, telecommunications, Finance, media, FMCG etc. Holds a Bachelor of Business Degree with a Double Major in Management and Marketing at EDITH COWAN UNIVERSITY, Perth, Western Australia. Currently Reading for Masters in Business Administration from University of Wales, UK.

Chamara Munasinghe

Over 3 ½ years of experience in Market Research. Worked at HomeServe PLC (UK) as anInsights Analyst. Was a researcher of the FMCG team at The Nielsen Company Lanka Ltd.Areas of expertise include Retail Measurement Services (analysing product movements,market shares, distribution, pricing and other market-sensitive information on retail andmodern trade) with a knowledge in various quantitative research studies such as usage andattitude, product testing and concept testing. Handled key clients like Glaxo SmithKline,Nestle, Unilever, Hemas and Sara Lee at Nielsen. Holds a BSc Physical Science degree fromUniversity of Colombo and a Master’s degree in Marketing from Keele University (UK).

Peshala Pussella
Started the career as a Merchandiser at Brandixand worked for a world Bank funded Project under Sri Lanka Tourism.

Following Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA) course - Managerial Level- Upper.

Holds a BSc in Eco Business management (Special) with a second class upper division from Sabaragamuwa University and currently reading for a MBA in Marketing at the University of Colombo.

Surangan Manoj

Over 5 years of experience in Data Analysis and Market and Social Research in Media, Telecommunication, FMCG, Industrial, Finance etc. Was a member of the Analysis Team of The Nielsen Company Lanka Ltd. Has 1 year extended experience in Lecturing at University of Kelaniya. Has a sound knowledge in most of the data analysis tools such as SPSS & SAS. Holds a Second Class Upper degree in Bachelor of Arts in Social Statistics & Economic (Special). Currently reading for the Master of Economics.

Upendra Bandaranayake

Over 10 years experience in Field Operations. Has experience in field operations for both Qualitative and Quantitative research in areas of Market Research, Social Research, Opinion Polling and Online Research etc. Was a senior member of the field operations at the Nielsen Company Lanka Ltd and worked as the Assistant Manager Research at Colombo Communications Ltd. Has over 10 years experience in Research in Research International and Sri Lanka Business Development Centre as Research Officer.

Over10years’ experience in field operations. Has experience in field operations for both Qualitative and Quantitative researchin areas of Market Research, Social Research and Opinion Polling etc. Also involved in conducting census for Retail Measure Science at Nielsen Lanka Ltd. Worked as a Senior Field Operations Executive at Nielsen Lanka Ltd.

Over3 ½ years’ experience in field operations.Has experience in field operations for both Qualitative and Quantitative researchin areas of Market Research, Social Research and Opinion Polling etc. Has over 2 years’ experience as a Field Research Officer (FRO)at the Nielsen Lanka Ltd and 6 months experience as a Field Research Officer at PepperCube Consultants Private Limited.

Holds a Bachelor of Science SpecialDegree in Business Information Technology at University of Rajarata.

Over 7 years experience in Field Operations & NGO sector. Has experience in field operations at Sri Lanka Business Development Centre and the Nielsen Company Lanka Ltd.
